Introduction to, and role of, the board

Governance

The school is led by a Local Governance Committee (LGC).  The LGC is a committee of the main board of the Trust and is accountable to the Trustees for its decisions.  The LGC is responsible for a range of areas, including:

  • Ensuring that standards of attainment and progress by all pupils at the school are high.
  • Taking a strategic role in the governance of the school.
  • Acting as a 'critical friend' to the school and its staff.
  • Ensuring that TPAT's vision for the school is carried forward.

The following people are members of the Orchid Vale School LAB ;

Ruth Lee - Head Teacher

Helen Rao - Staff Member

Kathryn Sanders - Community Member Chair of LGC with Safeguarding focus#

Mike Pook - Community Member - Vice Chair of the LGC

Alan Powell - Parent Member

James Head - Parent Member

We currently have vacancies for the LGC. If you could offer four hours per month and attending one meeting per term on a Monday evening (that’s six times per academic year) please contact Helen Bissex, our Clerk for further details. bissexh@theparkacademiestrust.com
