Introduction to, and role of, the board
Governance
The school is led by a Local Advisory Board (LAB). The LAB is a committee of the main board of the Trust and is accountable to the Trustees for its decisions. The LAB is responsible for a range of areas, including:
- Ensuring that standards of attainment and progress by all pupils at the school are high.
- Taking a strategic role in the governance of the school.
- Acting as a 'critical friends' to the school and its staff.
- Ensuring that TPAT's vision for the school is carried forward.
The following people are members of the Orchid Vale School LAB ;

Lesley Stewart - Community Member and Vice Chair of LAB with SEN focus
Helen Rao - Staff Member
Kathryn Sanders - Community Member Chair of LAB with Safeguarding focus
Alan Powell - Parent Member
Gosia Druzkowska – Community Member
James Head - Parent Member
